The Caring Board actively seeks and facilitates the physical needs of the congregation and the community at large; organizing a volunteer effort of the congregation to fulfill those needs. These physical needs may involve visiting the sick and needy, distributing food and clothing, organizing shelter, raising cash donations, calling upon new members, caring for the infirmed or bereaved or assisting in preparations for funerals or weddings at the church.
They regularly facilitate a fall and spring distribution of food to people who are part of our congregation.
On each communion Sunday (first Sunday of each month) there is a basket at the back of the sanctuary for benevolence offerings. The Caring Committee uses these funds to fill needs as they become known. Due to the economy, with loss of jobs, the need has remained greater.
