I am writing this letter to let you know about an opportunity I am blessed to take part in.You may have heard of YWAM (Youth With A Mission). The goal of YWAM is to disciple people to share God around the world while utilizing those values.
You may have heard of YWAM (Youth With A Mission). YWAM believes that the Bible is the authoritative Word of God. YWAM emphasizes the value of worship, holiness, witness, prayer, and fellowship. The goal of YWAM is to disciple people to share God around the world while utilizing those values.
About a year ago, I felt I was called to take a year off between high school and college, to strengthen my walk with God. I knew that academically I was prepared to excel in college, but I also came to the realization that spiritually, I wasn’t entirely ready. Over the course of the year I have grown tremendously in my walk with God. This growth served to feed the flame of my passion to serve the Lord.
In my search for the next steps, I discovered numerous programs that would allow me to dive deeper into my faith. After months of prayer, I decided on YWAM in Cáceres, Spain. It is a five-month program focused on developing a relationship with the Lord. This particular DTS (Discipleship Training School) has an emphasis in Music. We will spend three months in Cáceres, Spain studying how to utilize music to witness and evangelize. The two remaining months will be spent practicing the skills we learned in a currently undetermined outreach country (potentially in Africa, South America, or the Caribbean).
For several years now I have volunteered my summers serving at Fort Wilderness. It was there that I discovered my love for living a God-fearing life, and worshiping the Lord through music. This DTS program is focused on further developing those two passions. As an added bonus, though, the school also will give me an opportunity to practice my Spanish which will allow me to connect with over 20 Spanish-speaking countries.
I would like to offer you the opportunity to partner with me in this. I am where I am today because of a lot of prayer and because of wonderful people like you supporting me. I absolutely cannot do this alone. I need your prayers support! As much as this will be a great experience, I also know it will be physically, emotionally and spiritually stretching at times. Your thoughts and prayers will be a huge blessing.
In addition to needing your prayer support, I am also in need of financial support. The DTS is going to cost $9,000. This will cover the cost of the schooling and training, airfare, housing, international outreach, food, international health insurance, etc.
There is no obligation to give, but I encourage you to pray and see if God is calling you to take part in this adventure. If you are able to support me financially, the best way to do so is to write and mail your tax-deductible donation to Fulton Church: 9209 N. Fulton St, Edgerton WI, 53534. Please place a sticky note on your check with my name.
Please join me in praying that the financial support comes in. I also ask that you continue to pray for me throughout my journey. If you would like to stay connected with my outreach, feel free to email me. I will be periodically writing updates on my trip.
If you would like more information about YWAM as an organization, their web-site is: www.ywam.org. The web-site for the specific DTS that I was doing is: www.ywamcaceres.com/en. Please contact me by email if you have any questions.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support!
