Distad’s Dialogues

Frank and Linda Distad have been serving in N.W. Wisconsin since July of 1987.  They have been working with The American Missionary Fellowship (now called inFaith) for over 25 years.  Their goal is to reach out to people who are largely bypassed by other ministries and to EVANGELIZE, CONGREGATE  and DISCIPLE them.  They strive to see men and women, boys and girls come to know Jesus Christ and to grow in Him and to help believers attain their greatest potential for Christ.

They serve through Daily Vacation Bible School, Winsome Bible Camp, Northland Bible Camp, teen ministries, after-school Bible clubs, and Barron Evangelical Free Methodist Church.

Throughout the school year, they have a ministry among the teens in Trego, where they live. One of the activities last year was to show the teens what it might be like to be in a country where Christians can not worship openly. They met in secret out in the woods. Though there was no threat, some of the teens said it helped them understand what is happening in other countries.

Both Linda and Frank lead a weekly small Bible study.  On Sunday, they minister at the Barron Church about an hour from where they live.  The congregation is between 20-30 people, including residents from a couple special needs homes.

During the summer the Distads conduct five VBS sessions. This year they will be ministering in Superior, Shell Lake, the Twin Cities, Trego and Casey township (about 7 miles from their home).  They also help with a week-long camp for children from northern Wisconsin who have been served by In Faith ministries. Linda is the head cook for the camp.

Up until two years ago, Frank was the camp director, they’ve recently formed a committee to run the camp as the Distads look forward to retirement.
