On August 1st, 2016, I joined InterVarsity Staff at UW LaCrosse. InterVarsity is a collegiate ministry that has a vision to… “see students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed, and world changers developed.”
College ministry in the United States presents itself a unique opportunity. It is a time when young men and women will be out from under their parent’s roof and making decisions that will form who they are, what they believe, and the values that will form this foundation. It gives Campus ministers a chance to impact not only the culture of the campus, but the culture of the country.
University campuses are the front lines of thought, by pointing students to Jesus and aiding them in forming a Christian worldview. We can have an exponential impact for the Kingdom. By spreading the Gospel of Christ throughout campuses we can impact the lives of future generations as well as whatever vocation that chapter’s students will go into.
We can train future Christian leaders in business, education, medical, with a Christian worldview so Christ can be made known.
I have been assigned to the campus staff at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
I meet regularly with a current group of students that have expressed interest in a campus chapter of InterVarsity.
In addition to this vision, I also want to implement several “strategic” ministries in the first few years.
- A focus on international students, a diverse international student body consisting of 27 different countries.
- An athlete bible study. Intercollegiate athletics are a significant part of life at UW-L,
- Recruitment for conferences and student leader development and training
Thank you so much for the encouragement and support that you have showed me over the years!
